I have Windows on my system. In fact, a shared system of my institute and there is K9 web protection applied, so I don't have access to many of the websites. I don't have admin password, just login by using student assigned login.

Please help me out! Is there any way to get rid of that K9 web protection? Kindly do help me.

Super easy... just go to control pannel and go to add or remove software and click K9 web protection and get rid of it!NOTE: this will completly get rid of the program

this might not work for everyone, but try it. install a key logging software....get the password for K9 admin, so any time you wanna use the blocked sites u can temporarily disable K9.....

just move the bckd.sys file to any location that you choose... C:/windows/system32/drivers/bckd.sys then restart ur pc. just ignore the warning k9 web protection corrupted you can see that the message says "you will not be protected until you reinstall" that means k9 is completely disabled....if you want to rollback those changes just simply move the bckd.sys file to its original location C:/windows/system32/drivers/______ restart again then k9 will function normally again...

Im not sure how to properly get past k9 yet, but NETGEAR is easy. Instead of your webpage url being 'http' put 'https' so like if you wanted facebook, it would be something like, Https://facebook.com but instead off that put https://facebook.com. Its simple, eccept everytime you get the page to change you have to do it again

Oh a great windows based proxy server is JanaServer.http://www.janaserver.de/start.php?lang=enBasically you install this, make sure everything is turned off except for the proxy server, also turning on caching will help speed up the downloading of data frequently viewed because it keeps a copy stored on the proxy server.InternetFirewall(router/modem)computerJanaServer(Caching proxy)When you connect to the proxy you make an authentication request, which once authenticated you can log in, then you can access any website, the websites will be stored in the CACHE, so instead of downloading those graphics or files repeatedly it instead comes directly from the cache thus giving you a speed increase over the proxy.It is important to make sure you enable Authentication (User Management) User management allows you to prevent unauthorized users from connecting to your proxy and using it for malicious purposes(which they will) It is also VERY VERY VERY important to make sure you do not turn off brute force detection. Brute force detection prevents hackers from attempting multiple password attempts to hack into your proxy server, once they have your login they can then go anywhere you can go.You may think who cares, but many hackers see this as an opportunity to use your newly created proxy to spread viruses or hack into other peoples computers, websites, etc.. and guess what? YOU get blamed for it, since its YOUR IP address...So be smart, listen to experience and set the proxy up carefully the website has plenty of documentation. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Most of those proxy sites are full of spyware and viruses, you are better off installing a proxy server on a home computer and setting up firewall permissions for a port like 3128 then type the proxy into the tools, Internet options, connections, lan settings, unselect use automatic configuration script, select use proxy server for lan. Then type in the address of the computer you setup the proxy on, if you want to get fancy you can install a dynamic DNS client on the proxy server this will report a dynamic website address like proxy.website.com port 3128 to setup Dynamic DNS goto www.dyndns.com and setup and account and a DNS address, then install the client on the server and type in your DynDNS login information, it will download the DNS address and update your routers IP with their website. So when you goto proxy.website.com 3128 in the proxy settings you wont have to type in the IP address which is usually like a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx string of numbers seperated by periods...
